Formed out of 12 years of friendship, Jimmy Edgar and Machinedrum's production partnership makes perfect sense.
Both residing in Berlin these days, separately they are considered two of the most gamechanging artists of their generation. 2011's 'Rooms' proved Machinedrum – one half of Sepalcure – to be a crucial contributor to the bass canon, those footwork-influenced house styles marking a milestone of modern electronic music.
Edgar, meanwhile, has been at it even longer, dabbling in techno, Y3K funk and, most recently, garage – on last year's 'Majenta' – along the way. The two come together this month for a debut EP release as JETS for a release on Leisure System and a live appearance at a label takeover at XOYO, London, on Friday 8th February.
