JOHN DAHLBÄCK TALKS NEW COLLAB WITH BENNY BENASSI

Cavorting in the studio together for the first time are producer-DJ linchpins John Dahlbäck and Benny Benassi, who are gearing up for their first-ever collaborative track together. The tune, titled "Blink Again," is out now on Ultra Music and can be owned via Beatport. 

We sat Dahlbäck down for quick fire Q&A about what we can expect from the dance music stalwarts’ new offering. First, here's a snippet.

DJM: Why did you decide to collaborate with Benny?
John Dahlbäck: Benny's track "Satisfaction" was my main influence when I did "Blink" so it was a no brainer to ask him to work on this together with me. I was very happy when it happened!

Who played what role in the creation of this collab? Explain the process...
Bit of an unusual process really. I made my parts of the mix and Benny made his. We didn't spend much time together in the studio and would just send over fragments online. We eventually came up with the final masterpiece, and only made small adjustments from there. 

What are your plans this summer festival season?
Last summer's schedule was too much, so I've actually scheduled a few weeks vacation for once, which I'm really excited about! A part from that, doing festivals, Ibiza and juggling it with trying to make music also.

It's your last night on earth... what are you doing?
Spend it with my family.
