Kevin Saunderson in the House

The Detroit innovator gets back behind the decks

In the beginning there was Detroit, and from that city came techno... The man behind seminal acts such as Inner City (epically uplifting techno and acid house), Reese (proto drum and bass) E-Dancer (sublime Detroit techno) and many more, Kevin Saunderson, one of Detroit’s legendary Belleville Three alongside Derrick May and Juan Atkins, is well and truly back.

Having released the epic vocal journey of ‘Future’ at the end of last year, backed with a stripped down Kenny Larkin remix, this month he releases double mix compilation ‘Kevin Saunderson In The House’ on Defected. Split between a housier selection – including Osunlade, Josh Wink and Alex Kenji – and a tough techno orientated mix featuring Carl Craig, Ben Sims and Samuel L Session it’s his first mix compilation since 1996 and includes a 2011 update of possibly his most famous tune, Inner City’s anthem ‘Good Life’.

Don't just take our word for it though, check out this this mini-mix from Mr Saudnerson for some edited highlights.
