Like a pair of bass-loving Power Rangers, two of UK clubland's colossal forces, Metropolis & Wax:On, are collaborating to wreak havoc over a clubbing season of epic proportions in Leeds between September and November.
The series made up of three massive parties, fittingly dubbed Trilogy, will bring a shitstorm of dubstep, drum & dass, electro, techno and electronica to Leeds University Union's 15,000 capacity arena, once-a-month for three months.
Starting on Saturday 24th September, chart toppers Nero will accompany names such as Brookes Brothers, Aeroplane, Annie Mac, Loefah, Carte Blanche (Mehdi & Riton) as well as RAM Records owner and dnb don Andy C. Likewise, for the second installment things will get just as filthy on Saturday 26th October with the likes of DJ Hype, Friction and Artwork, while the likes of Azari & III, Toddla T, Zinc and The Two Bears keep things firing on all cylinders.
Then, to polish off a stellar series things will get wobble crazy as dubsteppers Skream, Benga and Rusko join the likes of Erol Alkan, Fake Blood and Hudson Mohawke to bring a taste of the new school on Saturday 26th November.
Mark Newton, the Director of Sound Channel, highlighted his excitement about the event: “We have been working on the Trilogy concept for quite some time now and we’re really happy to finally get it out in the open” he said. “We wanted to organize something on a large scale during the autumn, something that reflected the scale of what we had achieved through summer. We hope you enjoy what we’ve done!”.
