Martin Garrix took centre stage during the closing ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang this weekend.

Having only made the announcement the day before on Instagram, Garrix performed at the party for the athletes and attendees alongside amazing performances from the likes of K-Pop stars CL and EXO and a 13-year-old boy playing Vivaldi's ‘The Four Seasons’ on electric guitar.

In his announcement about playing the ceremony, Garrix cited watching Tiësto perform at the 2004 Olympics as a dj big inspiration for him when he was first becoming interested in dance music.

At the party, some of which you can watch below, Garrix played tracks such as his brand new collaboration with David Guetta, ‘Like I Do’ , and his 2013 hit ‘Animals’ amid the fireworks and vibrant spectacles of the ceremony.

Garrix’s year has been off to a massive start with a new track under his AREA21 alias dropping a couple of weeks ago along with his Guetta collab. This summer, Garrix will host his own STMPD RCRDS stage at Tomorrowland.
