On the Mend

DJmag is delighted to report that Back To Basics boss Dave Beer is out of hospital and making a good recovery. Promoter/DJ Dave was struck by a severe strain of pneumonia and admitted to Leeds General Infirmary. He was on a life support machine for 10 days after a relapse and secondary infection.

A Basics' spokesman said: "The doctors, nurses and staff at Leeds General Infirmary were absolutely amazing. It is down to their great work that he is with us today, and doctors say if he continues to rest he should have made a full recovery and be back at the helm in four to six weeks."
