MILLER SOUNDCLASH 2015: MEET THE FINALISTS

With Miller Genuine Draft

Miller SoundClash is the annual competition run by Miller Genuine Draft, in association with DJ Mag and Mixcloud, to uncover the very best up-and-coming DJ talent from across the globe!

Over the last few months, thousands of future DJ stars have been competing in regional and online competitions for a chance to represent their countries in one of Las Vegas’ most exciting clubs!

The diverse list includes two female DJs, and spinners from multiple genres, including big room EDM, future house and even drum & bass!

We have DJs from Zambia, Montenegro, Mexico and many more - demonstrating the incredible pool of international talent within our scene. These are the DJs who are going to Own The Night in Las Vegas.

Please meet the Miller SoundClash finalists of 2015...

DJ ANKLETAP (SOUTH AFRICA)
DJ Ankletap is a self-taught DJ and producer who is currently signed to Johannesburg's Spunk Records. He combines the African sounds of his homeland with hard hitting big room EDM to create a unique and impressive audio hybrid.

 
 

FEELGOODSMALLS (CANADA)
Toronto-based FeelGoodSmalls is well established in her home country. She is a regular performer at some of Toronto's best parties, where she lays down an infectious blend of nu disco and deep house.

 

CHARLIE & ZULU (PARAGUAY)
Charlie & Zulu's energetic, groove-based, progressive sound has seen the duo perform at festivals across Paraguay. They have shared stages with international heavyweights including Above & Beyond, Don Diablo and Kryder, standing them in good stead for Las Vegas! 


 
AUGUSTO YEPES (COLOMBIA)
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

The winner of the Colombian Miller SoundClash competition is 27 year old Augusto Yepes, whose deep tech sound, inspired by Jamie Jones & Seth Troxler, has seen him perform in Colombia, Barcelona and Costa Brava over the last few years. Next month he’ll add Las Vegas to that list!

DJ RAMA (ARGENTINA)
Buenos Aires based DJ Rama runs the Batonga party in the Argentinian capital, and is the night’s resident DJ. He has also performed at Creamfields BA for the last ten years. The house music lover has performed with Diplo and LCD Soundsystem and is also a mainstay on Argentine radio. 

 


CAISSA (DOMINICAN REPUBLIC)
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Dominican duo Caissa is the combination of Marco Bonarelli and Jean Sosa. The hardware-loving producers have been supported by DJs including Fedde Le Grand and Tommy Trash and shared stages with Armin Van Buuren and Above & Beyond. 

LOVING ARMS (HUNGARY) 
Loving Arms don’t like to the stick to one style. The duo – who only joined forces in 2015 – have developed a deep musical understanding as they rapidly blend tracks from every conceivable genre into a cohesive and uplifting set that is sure to win them new fans in Las Vegas. 

DJ BLOCKS (ZAMBIA)
“It’s more than a dream come true,” DJ Blocks told us when we broke the news that he would be representing Zambia in Las Vegas this summer. The house-loving DJ, who is inspired by Afrojack and Tiesto, is hoping his presence in the Miller SoundClash final will help pave the way for other DJs in his home country. 


BOCHO (MONTENEGRO)
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

The winner of the DJ Mag Wild Card contest was selected by SoundClash mentor Dannic who was impressed by ‘the combo of disco, house and bass’ in the Montenegrin DJ’s mix. Can he continue to impress in Las Vegas? 


DJ BUSTA ROW (JAPAN)
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Busta Row is the resident DJ of V2 Club in his home city of Tokyo. During his residency he has performed with DJs including Afrojack and Deorro. Keeping his cards close to his chest, DJ Busta-Row promises that he has “something special” planned for the Miller SoundClash final that he won’t reveal until the day. 


DJ SHUSHUPE (PERU)
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Peruvian DJ Shushupe takes her inspiration from a love of dancing. “I love it,” she tells us, “and when I realized I can make other people dance, I loved the feeling of the music and the joy on people’s faces.” Shusupe has experienced this joy whilst performing at some of Peru’s best events including the International Women’s Day Concert in Lima. 


DJ BARYONYX (SOUTH KOREA)
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Drum & Bass DJ Baryonyx is the director of Korean d&b crew, DNBS and member of BNS Krew. He is well known for his energetic performances on stage, alongside some of the genre’s biggest names including Andy C & Netsky. Vegas may not be known for its drum & bass scene, but Baryonx could be set to change that! 


ERDEM  ŞENEL (TURKEY)
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Representing Turkey in the Miller SoundClash final is a DJ who is very confident in his abilities. ‘I expected to win 1st  place in Turkey” he enthuses, “now I am targeting to the top rank in the world! The DJ, who is based in Istanbul says that his love for electro house and EDM is a lifestyle that represents him. 


LEMARROY (MEXICO)
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Lemarroy is one of Mexico's top DJs, playing at the countries major events including EDC Mexico and Unite to Tomorrowland. His style combines deep house with big room EDM.

RITMO X (PANAMA)

Ritmo X is a Panamanian national who started DJing in 2007 on vinyl turntables. He's played in Panama, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Guatemala & New York. Soon he will be able to add Las Vegas to that list!

So that’s it! Those are the Miller SoundClash finalists of 2015. All fifteen DJs will fly to Las Vegas to compete against one another in the Grand Final this September. The winning DJ will then play alongside Dannic at his Las Vegas residency at Drais!
