Moog encourage customers to protest Trump

The dispute is over new trade tarriffs that Moog claim will see significant job losses...

Moog Music have encouraged customers to protest Trump's trade tariffs. A 25% increase on Chinese imports has been introduced by the Trump administration, a move that Moog claim will "immediately and drastically" increase the costs of building their instruments in the US. While their PCBs are sourced nationally "wherever possible" most of Moog's raw components are imported from China.

In a letter, Moog also claimed that the tariffs "have the very real potential of forcing us to lay off workers" and that the popular synth company could be forced to move their productions out of North Carolina or even move internationally. Moog rallied for support by saying "We ask that you will support us by imploring our elected officials to recognize that these tariffs are seriously harmful to American businesses like Moog.” The tariffs are set to be introduced on 6th of July.

Moog recently introduced the Grandmother synth, a semi-modular retro-styled instrument.
