MORE ACTS FOR CROATIAN FESTS

Unknown and Electric Elephant announce more names

Some of the principal Croatian summer festivals have just announced more acts for their events.

Following a sold out debut last year, Unknown Festival returns once more to the beautiful town of Rovinj on the North Adriatic coast for its week-long event, 8th — 12th September. Scottish electro-pop act Chvrches, chilled electronicists Mount Kimbie (pictured), Border Community man James Holden and top underground DJ Dixon are all on the bill, along with a slew of other underground DJs.

Henrik Schwarz, Bicep, Ame, DJ Harvey, Dusky, Erol Alkan, George Fitzgerald, Horse Meat Disco, Jackmaster, John Talabot, Joy Orbison, Michael Mayer, Optimo, Seth Troxler, Simian Mobile Disco, The 2 Bears and Waze & Odyssey are just some of the DJs confirmed for the second Unknown event.

Organised by Leeds promoters Sound Channel, artists play on boats, by the pool, deep in the forest and — new to 2014 — on nearby islands. There'll also be once again great attention to art and production, thanks to Mad Ferret productions, the Unit 44 crew and others. 25-30 flights per day leave the UK for nearby airports.

Tickets are £129 plus booking fee, available here

Meanwhile, Electric Elephant has just made its second announcement. Norman Jay, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Prosumer and Awesome Tapes From Africa join Chez Damier, Horse Meat Disco, Justin Robertson and Ashley Beedle, who were already announced.

Aiming to evoke the spirit of Ibiza's early years, the Electric Elephant takes place July 10th — 14th at the Garden, Tisno, Croatia. Tickets here
