MOVEMENT DETROIT ADDS MORE NAMES

Phase two line-up looking very tasty indeed

Detroit’s acclaimed Movement festival has just announced its second wave of artists. Marco Carola, Boys Noize, Maceo Plex and Detroit original Kevin Sanderson (pictured) are just some of the acts who’ll now also be playing the festival between May 24th — 26th this year.

First staged in 2000 to celebrate current forward-thinking electronic music in the birthplace of techno, the festival has undergone a number of twists and turns since its inception. Detroit techno innovators Carl Craig, Kevin Saunderson and Derrick May have all had turns helming the event in its turbulent early years, but since 2006 it’s stabilised under the production experience of the Paxahau events company.

Already announced for the 2014 event were Carl Cox, Carl Craig, Chris Liebing, Damian Lazarus, Dixon, Eddie Fowlkes, Jamie Jones, Jeff Mills, Justin Martin, Kenny Larkin, Loco Dice, Metro Area (live), Octave One (live), Richie Hawtin, Simian Mobile Disco, Stacey Pullen and the Martinez Brothers. This second wave announcement beefs up the bill still further into one of the strongest festival line-ups in the world.

As well as the aforementioned acts, Baauer, Bicep, Bonobo (DJ set), Claude VonStroke, Daniel Avery (live), DBX (live), Ed Rush & Optical, Flosstradamus, Green Velvet, Jamie xx, Jimmy Edgar, John Digweed, Julio Bashmore, Kode9, Michael Mayer, Robert Hood and Tiga have all just been added to the event which takes place inside Hart Plaza, Detroit’s iconic riverside destination.

The cost of a three-day weekend pass is currently a bargain $110. Grab tickets here
