Mr. G announces new album, ‘A Part Of Me Vol. 2’

The house icon is back with his sixth album...

Mr. G has announced he will release a new album, ‘A Part Of Me Vol. 2’, in October this year on his Phoenix G label.

The UK producer, Colin McBean, will explore slower tempo sounds with “abstract sampling and broken beats” on an LP with a “jazzy edge”.

An album named ‘A Part Of Me Vol. 1’ also exists, but will be released after the October LP.

The work comes as a result of McBean’s preparation for a show with K15 on Worldwide FM, despite not originally planning to release an album this year.

"Month or so later," he says, according to Resident Advisor, "I had this body of work that seemed to go together really well, but more importantly I could now see the dots joining and my broad spectrum of music, for once, as super clear to see."

The dance music icon has been producing stellar work under this moniker since 2000, and he delivered the 71st edition of the DJ Mag Podcast last year.

It will be Mr. G’s first album for two years, since his sixth LP ‘A Good Place...?’ in 2016, and a full interview with the star can be enjoyed here.
