ONE TO WATCH: THE ASTON SHUFFLE

With Miller Genuine Draft

The Aston Shuffle are nothing short of a phenomenon in their native Australia. Their uplifting EDM sound has seen them top the charts and made the duo an obvious choice to support Swedish House Mafia when their One Last Tour hit Australia.

They have just spent 3 uninterrupted weeks in the Beatport No.1 position as their club-destroying track 'Sunrise (Won't Get Lost)' with Tommy Trash on Axtone dominated clubland and beyond.

And their ascent towards dance music's top table shows no sign of abating. New single 'Can't Stop Now' (stream below) is a hands-in-the-air bomb that will catapult The Aston Shuffle into the global elite. We thought it was about time we pulled the charasmatic pair in for a quick chat.

Who are you? Please introduce yourselves:
We are The Aston Shuffle, an Electronic duo out of Sydney/Canberra Australia.

Describe your sound in no more than 5 words:
"Emotive Electronic Music" that covers all genres.

Who are your biggest influences?
At the moment we are really vibing on Adapt Or Die, Motez, Jeremy Olander,  LDRU, Amtrac, Mord Fustang.. the list goes on!

How would you rate the scene in Australia at the moment?
EDM is very much at the forefront like most other territories but in recent times thanks to producers like Flume & Ta-ku Australia has embraced the beat/trap vibe pretty hard. There also seems to be a bit of a house music revolution going - it appears to be gaining a lot of traction over here.

What has been your highlight of the last twelve months?
We were lucky enough to be one of the support acts for Swedish House Mafia's Australian leg of the One Last Tour.  It was a very special tour to be a part of as the scale of the shows was incredible and seeing the guys perform together for the last time was pretty special.

And what are you most looking forward to?
We're finally putting the finishing touches to our album which is very exciting as we've been working on it for a long time.  We're really keen to get it out there and get back on the road doing what we do best.. Playing live!

The Aston Shuffle 'Can't Stop Now' is released on Outsiders/Polydor on October 14th.
