ONES TO WATCH FOR 2014

With Miller Genuine Draft

As part of our regular One To Watch series in association with Miller Genuine Draft, we have been shining the light on emerging artists from across the spectrum of dance music.

For this start of 2014 special we have picked out four artists who should be on your radar in the next twelve months – ranging from underground revelations through to big room superstars in the making.

Cyril Hahn
One of 2013’s true breakthrough talents is internet sensation Cyril Hahn. Armed only with a Soundcloud Account and an ear for a remix, the Swiss-born, Canadian-based producer shot to prominence with incredible reinterpretations of Destiny’s Child, R Kelly, Jessie Ware and HAIM - clocking up millions of plays and new fans in the process. At the tail end of last year he dropped his first solo material on PMR to critical acclaim. 2014 will surely be the year that Hahn steps out of the internet and into the mainstream spotlight.

Le Youth
LA based producer Le Youth’s combination of 90’s R&B and sun-kissed house music propelled him into the limelight in 2013. His emotive, radio friendly tracks including Cassius-sampling ‘Cool’ and this remix of Disclosure have propelled him into the mainstream consciousness. Watch this man fly in 2014.

Henrik B
Although Henrik B has been around for some time, his career trajectory has accelerated over the last twelve months, following his gradual transition from techno (where he was releasing on Drumcode) to work on a more progressive sound that would be picked up by Steve Angello and Eric Prydz among others. The Swedish DJ & producer is now releasing on Armin Van Buuren’s Armada label and is well on his way to becoming Vegas’ next darling. Watch this space!

Andrea Oliva
Andrea Oliva is the big-room techno headliner at Ushuaia Ibiza’s weekly ANTS party. The Swiss DJ plays the now-infamous closing set on the main stage surrounded by circus performers, pyrotechnics and dancers – bringing a large does of showmanship to the usually serious world of techno. His recent remixes on Mobilee and Defected signal a significant increase in production output, which will surely result in Oliva being welcomed on techno’s top table in 2014.
