Paul van Dyk teases new album: Watch

The trance legend is back!

Trance legend Paul van Dyk has teased what appears to be an announcement for his ninth album.

Taking to Twitter yesterday (1st August) the recent DJ Mag North America cover star shared a mysterious video of binary code with random instances of the number 9 encircled in flames. The caption for the tweet was an hourglass and #9. You can see it below.

Cryptic as it is, the best bet is that this is indeed a teaser for a forthcoming album from the longstanding DJ/producer. For now though, this is all fans have to go on. The German artist released his eighth album, ‘From Then On’ in 2017 to great acclaim.

In July, van Dyk also released the eponymous track from his 2018 SHINE Ibiza residency.

Last week, he took to Twitter to remind fans just how much trance still means to him after nearly three decades in the game. “Trance is more than music,” he wrote. “It's a lifestyle. It's about community. It's emotions turned into sound.”

PvD suffered a life-threatening stage fall at A State Of Trance in 2016, which saw him airlifted to hospital. Last year, he issued a heartfelt statement following the incident.
