The team behind Dedbeat Festival, responsible for four sell out events at a coastal holiday park from 2001 to 2004, has partnered with Numbers for Pleasure Principle, a weekend of electronic music coming to Newquay, Cornwall (26th – 28th April).
Featuring the sort of talent usually reserved for the trendy dens of East London, the event is guaranteed to attract an abnormal influx of New Era caps and skinny jeans to the West Country. Not forgetting, of course, an inevitable avalanche of rambunctious basslines and thunderous beats – TNGHT, Joy Orbison, Omar S, Jackmaster, Ben UFO, Levon Vincent, Loefah, Floating Points, Maurice Fulton, among many others, lining up as the prospective main offenders.
From the same people who booked Aphex Twin and Madlib to play at Pontins in Norfolk, Pleasure Principle will coincide with Numbers' 10 year anniversary. Hence, Jackmaster, the label boss, who met the Dedbeat team at one of their events moons ago, will be on site to showcase talent from the imprint. Taking place at Trevelgue Holiday Park, where festival goers can stay in caravans and camp or offsite in B&Bs, hotels and cottages, this is one festival you'd be an April fool to miss.
