Speaking ahead of the launch of Point Blank LA (PBLA) with head honcho Rob Cowan he explains how the original London enterprise started off as a very short weekend course around about 1994 and developed from there. It outgrew its small humble beginnings and moved to “trendy” Hoxton in about 2000 into purpose built studios and the courses have just grown and developed since then. Point Blank today is now a range of music production courses, sound engineering, singing, DJ’ing, radio production, music business, as well as the online school.
And as with all good initiatives you can’t afford to rest on your laurels and so the LA adventure starts here. Point Blank LA official launch takes place on February 19th at the fabulous Mack Sennett Studios, owned and run by legendary producer Jesse Rogg (Rob’s Partner in this new venture) the doors to this fine establishment will fling open to herald in a new chapter in Point Blank’s History.
Jesse Rogg is a well known and respected face in the LA scene in fact a little bit of an underestimation as Jesse is high in demand as one of the go-to producers in the music industry globally. His vision for Point Blank Los Angeles is simple; “a place for students to be directly associated with one of the most vibrant and exciting creative communities in the world in which they can immerse themselves and ideally explore the highest reaches of their creativity.”
The Official launch will be a glorious day of activity and a chance for all to see the new facility, get hands on with the Ableton and Native Instruments-equipped stations as well as partake in the networking opportunities and seminars that will be on offer throughout the day.
