With clubs closing across the UK, one noticeable knock-on effect has been a noticeable increase in illegal raves throughout the UK — and the Police have announced that they will be dealing with them “robustly” this summer.

Dyfed-Powys Police — which covers several counties in Wales — has asked farmers and landowners to be vigilant and keep their land secured to prevent illegal raves taking place this summer.

Superintendent Robyn Mason said, “There is little doubt that these type of events are very well planned, organised and that local knowledge is important in drawing down the main group to a particular ‘vulnerable’ field, or area of land which has been targeted previously as a suitable venue.

“I can assure local communities that police will take the appropriate action to deter illegal gatherings and deal robustly with any criminal offences discovered or disclosed.”

The police have even gone to the trouble of creating a handy guide for landowners and farmers to spot where an illegal rave might happen.
