“I couldn't have asked for more,” Alesso tells DJ Mag on how his year has panned out so far. And not surprising, considering he's been picked up by Def Jam and has been working on his first solo artist album. The latter of which has him in an utter spin. “I still can’t get past the fact,” he recounts.
“Hearing my single 'Heroes' for the first time on the radio” certainly ranked high on his list of personal bests of 2014. “And also the incredible shows I've been honoured to do the whole summer.”
This year Alesso teased his crowds with new forthcoming music; tracks that will appear on his debut long-player. At Tomorrowland and Ultra alone his hypnotic performances caused eruptions and outpourings of love and affection for the Swede, who is not afraid to use the mic. “My name's Alesso, it's a pleasure to be here. You guys ready to have a good time with me? Then please let me see those hands in the air!”
Alesso has taken his music and DJing across the world several times over, but when asked which country he is going to play that he hasn't visited before his reply is perplexing and intriguing at the same time. “Mars.” Seems unlikely, but who knows?
