It’s always hard for a DJ to juggle playing shows with writing and recording. Creating new music often takes a back seat during rigorous touring schedules, but Russian producer Arty has managed to find the balance during 2014, which made it an “amazing” year for him.
“Between my shows I had plenty of time to focus on making new music,”, he explains. “I wrote and produced a lot of records that I’m proud of, and I can’t wait to share them with people.”
Top of that list of records is Arty’s upcoming debut album, which the producer has devoted a lot of time to over the year, and is scheduled for release in early 2015. Melodic, thumping club house track ‘Up All Night’, with vocals from Angel Taylor, was released earlier this year as the first single to be taken from the upcoming debut full-length, and seems a fair indicator of the kind of huge, colourful tracks expected on the finished album.
Arty has also undertaken some huge remixes during 2014, including reworks of popular lo-fi indie band London Grammar (‘Hey Now’) and progressive producer Porter Robinson. Now, however, Arty is focusing on finishing his own album — although he’ll also be touring through parts of Asia and North America. No mean feat, but as this year has shown, he’s more than up to the challenge.
