Questions Top100 DJs 2014 - admin - 2015-06-30 17:30

“Everything but one genre.”
Best known for:
“Early trance music.”
Tune of the year:
“Ferry Corsten feat Nat Dunn 'Hyper Love'.”
Rotterdam, Holland.
Breakthrough DJ/producer of 2014:
“My compatriot Jacob van Hage has really been on fire this year.”

Such is the ever-changing nature of the Top 100 that only a handful of DJs from even a few years back still continue to feature on the list. Dutch trance titan Ferry Corsten, however, can be safely considered a veteran of the poll at this stage. Since reaching the lofty heights of No.7 back in 2009, he’s been ever-present since.

The unwavering level of support he commands is testament to his almost peerless ability to appeal to new audiences. He’s hardly been keeping quiet either, what with a new baby entering the Corsten clan as well as the continuing success of his Full On brand, both in Ibiza (where he shacked up for the season at Space) and beyond, and his New World Punx project alongside Markus Schulz. The next few months see Corsten touch down for gigs in India, Canada and Russia; proof indeed that his is an appeal that now spans all territories. His most famous aliases, System F and Gouryella, might seem like a lifetime ago now, but it’s to Corsten’s immense credit that he’s still as relevant now as he was way back when.
