Willem Rebergen has been growing his hair recently — no longer is he the bald bloke at the top of the hardstyle tree. No longer does he resemble a Buddhist monk, then — although, away from the hurly-burly of the hardstyle scene, he likes nothing better than to meditate somewhere quiet and picturesque. Or so he says in his answer to the last of the set questions, anyway.
Headhunterz were initially a duo, adopting the name when Willem and pal Bobby van Putten signed to Scantraxx. Bobby left soon after, and following a slew of releases on Scantraxx and some big old gigs he built himself up to be the biggest name in hardstyle. Just recently, Headhunterz signed to big US label Ultra Music — a significant development for the growth of hardstyle internationally. His first release on Ultra, 'Colors', got to No.5 in the Dutch iTunes chart. Unconnected to Ultra, Willem has also launched his own label — HARDwithSTYLE.
“The last 12 months have been very fruitful production-wise,” Headhunterz tells DJ Mag. “Very liberating creatively. Very busy professionally.” A little-known fact about Willem is that he's also a voice-over actor who has voiced the roles of Fred and George Weasley in Harry Potter and Peter in The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe when the films were overdubbed into Dutch.
