Infected Mushroom aka Erez Aizen and Amit Duvdevani say that they were “touring like crazy” in 2014, but at times it must have been confusing. The Israeli trance act now performs four different types of shows including “the projection-mapped visual set, live band, old school live and DJ set”.
Given their psychedelic background, it is no surprise that they cite Burning Man as “indescribable, one of our favourites hands-down”. They also rate Electric Daisy Festival because “they always go all-in on production”.
Relocating to the States in 2006 helped the duo to get well-known in the US, but they also say that they “really enjoy the American way of life” and spend a good deal of time focusing on their families.
That hasn’t stopped their creative output, and Infected Mushroom put out EPs on Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak label. However, their sound has matured and Infected Mushroom now integrate guitars, vocals and varying tempos into their productions.
“We feel like if you don’t evolve as an artist, then you die away,” they say, but add that they still “enjoy incorporating psychedelic elements into all of our tunes”.
