2014 marked Sander van Doorn’s tenth year in the game. Despite being something of an elder trance statesman, though, he has still had a dizzying year.
“I've been touring almost non-stop and did loads of amazing gigs,” he beams. “Production-wise it has also been an amazing year. ‘Gold Skies’ with Martin Garrix and DVBBS did great and of course my collaboration with Oliver Heldens, ‘THIS’, was one of this year's highlights.”
Admitting that he is always trying to develop his music and sound, Sander think it’s very important to evolve yourself and has done so again this year by hooking up with next generation talents like Garrix and Heldens, which has been “a great experience”.
Besides that, his label DOORN Records keeps on growing and expanding. “I’m really proud of that,” says the Dutchman, before going on to extol gigs at Burning Man and Tomorrowland as well as his own label night during WMC back in March. “Soon I am doing a bus tour in Canada with Julian Jordan and Firebeatz and I really can’t wait for that,” he says of the future. “It’s going to be chaos! We also have a lot of great releases planned on DOORN Records.”
