In the last few years, Tokyo's underground house and techno lacuna has adapted to the changing landscape. As EDM has spiralled and its popularity in Japan has increased, Womb's moved with the times, and now peppers its club events with a sugary dose of big room beats.
As if to prove their pulling power in this domain, last year Skrillex appeared at the truly iconic club that some would dub the best in Asia, but the underground contingent remained strong, everyone from Ben Klock and Loco Dice to Todd Terje and Nina Kraviz rocking its enveloping rave cavern.
In 2014 Womb embarked on a Brazil tour, bringing their residents to many of the South American country's top clubs during the World Cup madness, while this year, the club celebrates its 15th anniversary with plenty of shenanigans planned.
Getting the balance just right, their combination of futuristic, mind-frying laser shows, perfect sound, huge disco ball and super-friendly crowd mean that Womb really is one of the world's very best clubs.
