Premiere: Gizelle Smith ‘Dust (Dimitri From Paris VS Cotonete Discomix)’

Disco legend Dimitri and visionary jazz/funk outfit Cotonete give the wonderful ‘Dust’ by Gizelle Smith a dancefloor rework...

Contemporary funk vocalist and songwriter Gizelle Smith’s new album ‘Ruthless Day’ opens with an addictive cut by the name of ‘Dust’. On it, the London-based performer, who was bandleader for Hamburg outfit The Mocambo before going solo, delivers an energetic and catchy vocal on top of a classic funk backdrop, giving it a memorable, uplifting quality that, once heard, is frankly impossible to shake.

Now, the mighty Dimitri From Paris and fellow French jazz/funk outfit Cotonete have teamed up for the second time to serve up an equally unforgettable pair of remixes of the original. Having worked together previously on their ‘Paribbean Disco’  release, the legendary DJ/producer and the sizeable band have joined forces once again to bring Smith’s powerful vocals to global dancefloors.

‘Dust (Dimitri From Paris VS Cotonete Discomix)’ is premiering below and is one of the most fun, joyful tracks we’ve heard so far this year.

The remix, along with a Dubstrumental version, are set for release digitally and on 12” vinyl on 6h April through Jalapeno Records. You can pre-order it here.
