On their most recent album ‘Late Night Party Line’, longstanding UK house duo PBR Streetgang teamed up with the mighty Ron Basejam on the track ‘Montu’. A triumphant ode to classic piano house anthems, the track was one of the album’s most joyous moments.
“Montu is a salute to the UK's 90's piano house culture,” the pair said at the time of the track’s release. “It's big, bold and fun! Think 'Space terrace back in the day’. Montu is a cheeky nod to those glorious days. We simply wanted to make a record that could transport us to that place”
Now, ahead of the pair stepping up for a BBC One Essential Mix on Saturday night (26th May), they have enlisted another UK club ringleader, Paul Woolford, to serve up a remix of the track. Woolford – who you will also know as the mighty Special Request – has delivered a swerving, deep and anthemic take on the original. You can hear it below. We love it.
