Solomun and Adriano Trolio’s Diynamic Music has been releasing its distinct brand of melodic, deep tech house for 12 years. Now, for its 100th release, Solomun himself steps up with a typically ensnaring EP, ‘Customer Is King’.
With the likes of Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Adriatque, Magdalena and Stimming being just some of the acts to regularly release on the label, Solomun has, comparatively, been sparing in his own track contributions. More prolific on remix duties than as a composer, his quality over quantity approach makes it so that news of new music from the Bosnian-German luminary is always something to get excited about.
‘Customer Is King’ is testament to that, and finds the longstanding DJ doing what he does best, fusing the label’s penchant for steady grooving backdrops and anthemic melodies to tremendous effect.
The EP’s highlight is ‘Dre’, which finds Solomun on most euphoric form to date with a ticking, percussive backdrop propping up a swirling, arpeggiated lead that will make Bicep fans leap out of their seats. Epic, festival ready stuff.
