RADIO 1'S ACCESS ALL AREAS PARTY

BBC station's dance DJs play visualised Friday evening event

BBC Radio 1, the UK's youth music station, has been hosting Access All Areas events all through the month of February. And tomorrow night (Friday 28th February) the station's dance music DJs are staging a special closing party, from 7pm onwards.

The Radio 1 studios are set to be transformed into a club for the live broadcast, with a fancy dress theme and an audience of Radio 1 listeners. Listeners at home can join the party through the live visual stream via the website, and will be able to interact with the Radio 1 DJs via social media — either on Facebook here or on twitter here

Stalwarts Annie Mac (pictured) and Pete Tong, and new kid on the block Danny Howard, will host the night, with the station's dance music presenters including B. Traits, Rob Da Bank, Annie Nightingale, Monki, Friction, George Fitzgerald and other special guests all taking a turn in the mix.

Radio 1 and sister station 1Xtra have opened their doors to audiences for the whole of February with studio takeovers, special Live Lounges, the chance to control a DJ, behind-the-scenes filming, and with station bosses facing questions from listeners. The initiative is part of the move towards visualising most radio content for live streaming via the BBC iPlayer in the coming months.

The dance party runs from 7-11pm on Friday 28th February. BBC Radio 1 is available on radio, digital TV, online here and via the BBC iPlayer Radio app. Use #accessallareas for more on the night.
