RETURN OF THE MAG

DJ Mag Sessions returns to Ministry of Sound this Saturday!

This May, we launched DJ Mag Sessions at Ministry of Sound. Snatch! boss Riva Starr joined Inner City star Kevin Saunderson, Lost Records duo Leftwing & Kody and Dale Howard in The Box, which was rammed close to capacity.

Off the back of a sunny day of park drinking and FA Cup Final antics, London's clubbers were in incredibly high spirits, including the DJ Mag Allstars who laid down a warm-up set of deep house groovers ready for No.19's Louie Fresco, No Fit State resident Simon Baker and Dirtybird one-to-watch Shiba San in the 103.

Meanwhile The Box went off, where an impromptu b2b set between Kevin Saunderson and his son Dantiez raised the roof almost from its hinges, ready for Riva Starr to do the dirty disco business. It truly was a wicked night and we cannot wait for the next one...

And, fear not. On Saturday 5th July, we return to the legendary London club with another bad-ass line-up. Defected's Noir, Diynamic regular Uner and Real Tone top dog Franck Roger will do the honours in the main room, while Zombie Disco Squad, Ardalan from Dirtybird and Chris Finke as Bodyjack combine with DJ Mag Allstars again in the 103.

Off the back of a 'Defected in the House' compilation, the Noir Music man can be found dominating line-ups all over Europe this summer, including Ibiza's BoOom!, so it's with honour we invite him to Ministry of Sound this month. Uner, too, involved with ANTZ, Carl Cox's Revolution and Diynamic Outdoor at Cava Santa, can be found often on the island, while Franck Roger has recently contributed a track to Ralph Lawson's 'Content 2.0' compilation to commemorate 20 years of 2020 Vision, to complete a line-up we are very proud of indeed.

DJ Mag Sessions started in November 2012 with Heidi, Waze & Odyssey and Blackhall & Bookless at snug little Shoreditch boozer Bedroom Bar. Drawing queues around the block with consistently big line-ups for free and Funktion One sound, DJ Mag Sessions booked the likes of Dusky, Space Dimension Controller, Alexis Raphael, Krystal Klear and No Artificial Colours before moving round the corner to Basing House where Breach, Ejeca, Citizen, B.Traits and Dismantle also created road blocks on a Thursday night.

Before not too long it became pretty clear we needed a larger venue and, following the success of Best of British Awards 2014 (with Andy C, James Zabiela, Dusky and Paul Woolford) last December, Ministry of Sound — with its rich heritage and immense soundsystem — was the automatic choice. Ever since, there's been no looking back!
