Test your luck with this Friday the 13th dance music report

Kick the weekend off with American DJ, producer and vocalist, Lea Luna’s curation of the top eight releases in dance music this week.

1. Sonic One vs Twoloud- ‘The Drums’ This track so appropriately named ‘The Drums’ pulls you in with a captivating and unforgettable synth melody, builds to soaring heights that nearly make you beg for the drop, and then bursts with the most menacing drum line you will ever hear. Doorn Records has a cut above the rest with this five star scorcher cued up. 

2. Odesza- ‘Bloom’ (Lane 8 remix)‘Bloom’ is drenched in hypnotizing beauty, a unique and melodically brilliant array of vocal edits and heartwarming tones across a progressive beat that remixer Lane 8 provided with absolute class for an excellent compliment to the downtempo original by the greatly talented Seattle-based music craze called Odesza. 

3. Tove Lo- ‘Talking Body’ (Gryffin remix)The sexed up lyrics of new pop sensation Tove Lo get kissed with an element of blissful house vibes by NYC's Gryffin on his remix of ‘Talking Body’, a perfect mood to toss onto the ones and twos for Valentine's Day this weekend.  

4. Don Diablo feat. Kris Kiss- ‘Chain Reaction (Domino)’Dutch producer Don Diablo is on fire with his newest track graced by the lyrical precision of Kris Kiss. The elements of house, electro, and hip hop all blend together perfectly on this one, making a well-rounded party hit that fits in many different pockets in the club scene. 

5. Dimension- ‘Jet Black’Drum and bass fans are in for a treat with ‘Jet Black’, a stellar new track by Dimension. Alluring vocals and synths engulfed in massive basslines and ripping d&b beats create an intense emotional sonic experience from beginning to end, which will surely make this track stand out in the club and on the charts. 

6. T.I.- ‘What You Know’ (Crizzly Remix)

Crunkstep aficionado Crizzly is not messing around with his new remix of T.I.'s ‘What You Know’,  a TKO combo of hip-hop, trap, and relentless face-melting bass drops that are made to completely shake the sound system, wake the neighbors, and rock your weekend. 

7. Invisible Landscape- ‘Anthem’The old school flavor of ‘Anthem’ comes straight from the roots of drum & bass, chocked full of aggressive amens, trap inspired breakdowns, and smoking raggae MC samples edited skillfully across a melodic journey that balances out the overall feel of the track with both toughness and beauty. 

 

8. Legion & Logam- ‘Warehouse’ EP
The heady low end of ‘Warehouse’ is a perfect intro to the upcoming EP by Atlanta/Denver collaboration Legion and Logam, which releases in a matter of days on d&b label New Playaz. The EP is anticipated to be a variety of sounds in one presentation spanning the styles of hip hop, techno, progressive, and d&b, broadening the scope of their brand to be based less on genre rules and more on the solid, heavy quality of their production.
