Richie Hawtin announces first Berghain gig in six years

The minimal techno don will return to the club at the end of June...

Richie Hawtin is set to play his first set in Berlin’s Berghain in over six years at the end of June.

The minimal techno legend and Minus label boss is set to return to the venue for the first time since 2012 on Friday 29th June. He will play alongside Panorama Bar resident Roi Perez.

Hawtin has had a somewhat turbulent relationship with the iconic club in the past couple of years, having been kicked out of the venue following an argument with security staff in 2009.

After the incident nearly ten years ago, Hawtin took to Facebook to express his annoyance with the club...

"U know what, BERGHEIM (sic) is a great club once you are inside, but why does the door policy have to be so ridiculously hard,” he wrote. “Come on guys, you have a great club but don't act so egotistically cool. We would all love to play and work with you, but you need a serious attitude adjustment!!! Good luck and remember those who have been supporting your scene before you even opened.”
