Richie Hawtin returns with Plastikman tour
Cutting-edge technology in highly anticipated new show
Techno big-hitter Richie Hawtin has announced plans to return with his first ever stand alone tour of Plastikmanthis December. Manchester, Glasgow and London will play host to Richie as he immerses himself in the latest cutting-edge technology, placing emphasis on the new 1.5 format of the show that he promises will be his finest ever.
Plastikman sees Richie using the SYNK App, meaning that aspects of the stunningly impressive performance – such as music, lighting, audio, visuals and audience interaction – will be controlled by the Canadian DJ and producer. Having spent the past ten years working with Derivative and his production team to create the mind-blowing technical show, Plastikman is an unmissable event.
The mouth-watering tour kicks off at the Manchester Academy on Thursday 1st December, sure to excite a city already famous for its dance-hungry nature. Following on from this, the tour will then be brought to Brixton on Friday 2nd December and finished with the UK tour finale in Glasgow on Saturday 3rd December. Additionally exciting, any fans with the SYNK iphone application can enhance the experience further by using its new and updated features that include live chat and live behind-the-curtain camera feed.
Richie Hawtin, described by The Daily Telegraph as 'mesmeric', is understandably keen to stress the potential of the tour: “I’m incredibly excited to finally take Plastikman on its first standalone tour. These dates will represent the last opportunities for fans to catch Plastikman Live in its current form: the 1.5 version of the show we’ve spent nearly a year of fine-tuning. The fall tour will be full of surprises and the performance will continue to be spontaneous and unique for every show – the way I believe live music should be performed in 2011”.
