Satoshi Tomiie's Top Ten

With Satoshi Tomiie's new compilation for Renaissance's Master Series out now we asked the deep house don to tell us about his top 10 favourite tracks from the album...

1. 'Letting You Down' Shur-I-Kan

"This is the kind of sound I call 'modern deep house'. The track has a nice deep groove and clever instrumentation with an 'edge'. On my comp I played electronic piano on top of this amazing piece of music."

2. 'Eleven' Toby Tobias

"His 'Space Shuffle' on Rekids is my favourite album of 2008 and this is one of the tunes from it. Warm, fat sounding deep melodious bass is the hook."

3. 'Madrugada' Mes

"My new project Mes opens up disc two. "

4. 'Lark' Tomoki & Nono

"Love their way of putting the different elements of sound together. I like it too much, too good to pass on and not sign to my label SAW!"

5. 'Impulse' Wareika

"The rolling bassline reminds me good old skool times, but the track sounds really fresh and at the same time kinda twisted. A three beats loop. Interesting."

6. 'Drink Deep 2008 (Adultnapper Remix)' Dave Brennan

"Really feeling Adultnapper's recent stuff."

7. 'On The Streets (Kollectiv Turnstrasse Let Freedom Ring Remix)' Federleicht

"It's very hard for me to find good tunes with a vocal nowadays and this is one of a few very rare discoveries that fills the gap."

8. 'Dead Souls (Radio Slave Long Distance Kiss Mix)' Mlle Caro & Franck Garcia

"Matt is known for his amazing production, most of his stuff really works for peak time. On this tune he shows off his skills in handling vocals. Really deep, hypnotic and it is the perfect one to finish disc one."

9. 'Touch Me (King Roc Remix)' Nathan Drew Larsen

"Loving King Roc's stuff, I featured his productions also on my last Masters Series compilation."

10. 'Elif (Jimpster Remix)' Marc Romboy

"I am guessing that since Jimpster is a real musician as well as a DJ the treatment of live instruments (in this case soprano sax) is just right. Amazing balance with electronic elements."
