In Las Vegas, USA, something big is brewing. The spectacular Heineken Thirst Studio Global Sessions Weekend will be taking over the city on 25th – 27th May.

Hosted by hip-hop don gorgon Kanye West, the event will finally determine the winner of the Heineken Thirst Studio Global Sessions contest, which for a year has scoured the globe in search of the freshest new producers and musicians in the world. Being production focused, the contest has principally attracted new artists from within dance music, but the event will also feature the freshest new players in hip-hop and rock.

Throughout 2006, Thirst made it their mission to find the most promising new producers and picked out a choice selection of the very best. The finalists are from a diverse mix of countries: from Singapore - Akien; Dubai - Ali Ajami; Malaysia - Cosmic Space Munkys; Indonesia - Innerlight; Denmark - JacobRT; Romania - Livio & Roby feat. George G; and Croatia - Seraphim Codex.

Each of these artists will have their specially commissioned track judged at a private event at the Tao Beach club, Las Vegas, by a panel comprising world beating superstar DJ Paul Oakenfold, revered producers Gabriel and Dresden, and representatives from leading technology manufacturers Pioneer. The winner will have their track announced and played by Paul Oakenfold, and will then go straight to the city's Palm Studios with Gabriel & Dresden to remix the track, returning to the club later to premier the new version. There will also be a People's Choice winner - vote now on the innovative website www.thirststudio.comfor your chance to win one of Microsoft's new start-of-the-art Zune MP3 players.

The rest of the weekend will see live performances in the city, with Oakenfold and Gabriel & Dresden appearing alongside rising leftfield hip-hoppers Gym Class Heroes. It promises to be an exciting event, so go on - slake your thirst!
