“My favourite final would be: Croatia vs Bosnia-Hercegovina. Why? Because I am a Croatian from Bosnia.”

Who's going to win the World Cup?
“Germany or Brazil. I am also a fan of Germany, as I grew up in Germany. I played football in Germany, the German Bundesliga is really good at the moment, especially of course the players from Bayern Munich. They would deserve to win the trophy, at the last tournaments they were always really close.

And why Brazil?
Come on: it's Brazil! And it's in Brazil. It's always a pleasure to see them playing, I guess there's no other country in the world with so many great skilled players as Brazil. And of course, to win the cup in their own country is the greatest thing that can happen to a player.”

Standout World Cup memory?
“World Cup 1998 in France, when Croatia made it to the semi-finals and then lost against the later champions, France. This was really a great team with Davor Suker as a standout striker and also leader on the pitch, the Kovac brothers of course... this was the biggest success in World Cup history for the very young and small country Croatia.”
