There’s a new Diplo documentary featuring M.I.A., Justin Bieber, Madonna, more: Watch

The new mini-documentary shines a light on his success story, and musical collaborations past and present...

Diplo has introduced his new mini documentary, Florida to California, to the world. The short piece documents his career, starting from his beginnings in Southern Florida to the creation of his first studio album in 2004, which is named after the state.

It features on-camera appearances from many of Diplo’s collaborators, including M.I.A., Justin Bieber, Madonna, Post Malone and Snoop Dog. It also delves into the creation of Diplo’s 'California' EP, which came out in March. The recording has performances from DRAM (on the track “Look Back”), Lil Yachty and Santigold (“Worry No More”), as well as Desiigner, Trippie, Redd, Lil Xan and Goldlink. You can watch the mini-documentary in full below.

Recently, Diplo was interviewed by Oxford Union, during which he shared a story about nearly dying in the Ganges River 20 years ago. Diplo’s been a very busy man lately, collaborating with Labrinth and Sia as LSD and working with MØ again on the summery ‘Stay Open’. He also helped produced a World Cup anthem with Will Smith
