TOP 100 CLUBS: NORTH AMERICA FOCUS

With Miller Genuine Draft

The EDM tidal wave that continues to flow over North America has not only triggered a surge in the popularity of dance music worldwide, but has also changed the entire EDM landscape - from music, artists through to the festivals and of course, clubs!

Accordingly we have seen a huge rise in North American venues, propelled into the higher echelons of the Top 100 Clubs poll - this year powered by Miller Genuine Draft.

At the top of the pile, is our highest ever new entry - HAKKASAN - the Vegas super club who have swooped down on Vegas, with big-hitters Hardwell, Tiesto and Calvin Harris as their main cheerleaders.

Just five places down at number 15 are Marquee. The incredible day-and-night venue were at the apex of the transformation of Vegas into an EDM playground, and now continue to push the boundaries by booking underground acts like Richie Hawtin and Jamie Jones, in addition to their regular shows with Armin Van Buuren and Dash Berlin.

Outside of Vegas, it is one of the old hands who reached the highest heights. Pacha NY.

Pacha NY is the Manhattan arm of the iconic Ibiza brand, and sits in the venue that formerly homed legendary New York clubs The Sound Factory and Twilo. A grubbier, rough-and-ready answer to the silky environs of its Balearic brother, this is Pacha, most definitely — just with New York attitude.

The enviable North American clubs aren’t limited to the USA tho. Toronto’s Guvernment are sitting pretty in the top half of the poll - and for good reason. Big, bold and in your face, production here — balloons, glitter, streamers, visuals, LEDs, the lot — is second-to-none and the beats, brought by the likes of Steve Angello, Afrojack and Eric Prydz during the last 12 months, are equally massive.

Elsewhere, Avalon capped an incredible year with a climb of 9 places up to No. 40. Sharing the same name as the fabled island of King Arthurian folklore, LA’s Avalon has a legendary history of its own. Situated on the corner of Hollywood and Vine, this 1920s landmark was once a prestigious Tinseltown cinema - now converted into a theatre of electronic beats where Digweed and tYDI regularly hold fort.
