On Thursday 26th July, we're abandoning (or should we say Abandomaning?) the house and techno territory we usually walk on our monthly [email protected] show to bring you a bass & breaks special.
They'd be no better way than to haul in "king of breaks" Krafty Kuts for a grilling on the couch followed by a killer DJ set, so that's what we plan to do.
With the king in the building, we felt the breaks bonanza would only be part-complete if we didn't also grab the "godfather of breaks" Rennie Pilgrem to talk us through his feature tracing the milestones of his career in our new issue (August – in shops now) and, of course, unleash a bad-boy breaks set. He'll be in the studio following an appearance from witty trio Abandoman, who'll launch into a five-minute-long Top 100 DJs related rap over beat-boxing and live guitar (we guess!) after Carl Loben of the DJ Mag Allstars rinses out some bass.
If all that sounds a little bizarre, well, that's because it is. Best you tune in HERE at 5pm to see it to believe it...
