Over the past decade, Tomorrowland has developed into one of the principal electronic music festivals in the world. Taking place in Belgium every summer since 2005, no expense is spared in the production of the award-winning event.
This summer Tomorrowland produced a double festival over two weekends — 360,000 people — to mark their ten years.
Now today (Monday 29th September) the people behind Tomorrowland are putting about a special commemorative CD to mark the festival's tenth anniversary. 'Music Will Unite Us Forever – 10 Years Of Madness' is a bumper CD package that contains exclusive DJ mixes by some of the world's top DJs.
Afrojack, Armin Van Buuren, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Hardwell, Steve Aoki and resident Yves V are the DJs who contribute mixes over the first two discs. CD3, meanwhile, is compiled by the People Of Tomorrow — the festival-goers citing their Tomorrowland anthems of the past decade.
Sidney Samson 'Riverside', Swedish House Mafia 'One', Avicii 'Levels', Hardwell 'Spaceman' and Axwell 'Nothing But Love' are just some of the 20 anthems that appear on CD3.
The CD package comes in a classy brown casebook complete with a booklet full of pictures from the festival. For details about how to win a copy, see below.
A well received set at Tomorrowland can really break a DJ into the big time. For instance, Hardwell's set in 2013 is thought to have contributed to the Dutchman scooping the No.1 DJ in the World crown last year.
“Playing Tomorrowland over the years has always given me the joy of seeing people from different countries and cultures in life embracing one another,” Hardwell says. “And those clubbers who attend Tomorrowland have so much passion for the music and the DJs playing.
“Add to that the setting, a world of magic and wonder, and it's a very special place to party. This year's special anniversary album has done a fantastic job of capturing many of the special tracks from the festival, so fans can relive the spirit of Tomorrowland again and again.”
Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have been the official hosts of Tomorrowland for the past few years, and have made the official anthem of the festival over the past few years to — in conjunction with various EDM artists. DV&LM's popularity is also inextricably linked with the growth and success of Tomorrowland.
“10 years!! What a milestone and what a way to celebrate – 360,000 fans across two weekends, wow!” the guys enthuse. “We tore the house down with the craziest two weekends of the year.
“Bringing to life this occasion in this special anniversary album is something we’re really proud of and happy to see for the fans,” they continued. “From detailing the festival's journey with the picture timeline to the fans' selection of their favourite tracks, coupled with the mixes from a bunch of the festival's favourite DJs, for us this casebook album release is the perfect Tomorrowland collector’s item. People of Tomorrowland, we salute!”
