WIN A CLASSIC SOULWAX CD VIDEO!

A limited edition CD video of 'Radio Soulwax Part 2' up for grabs

Soulwax, aka 2ManyDJs, aka the band helmed by the Dewaele brothers David and Stephen, shot to prominence in the early noughties. 2ManyDJs was a spin-off from their band Soulwax, and their party mash-up sets and radio shows shot them to fame — with even David Bowie professing to be a fan.

In 2011, the guys unveiled their app and online radio station Radio Soulwax, showcasing 23 themed albums with accompanying visuals. They've now unveiled the 24th — their pioneering original release.

Made in 2002, the mix includes several in-vogue electroclash clasics such as 'Fuck The Pain Away' by Peaches and Felix Da Housecat's 'Silver Screen Shower Scene'. It's an absolute classic — and you could win an extremely limited edition CD video of it by answering the question below. Only 30 were made for friends.

'As Heard On Radio Soulwax Part Two' was pretty much the first official mash-up album, and includes tracks by Basement Jaxx, Peaches, the Velvet Underground, Sly & The Family Stone, Felix Da Housecat, The Stooges, Salt N Pepa, The Residents, Dolly Parton, New Order and many more.

The Dewaele brothers originally wanted to include elements of 187 recordings in the mix, but eventually used 114 of them. Sixty-two were refused permission, and 11 could not be traced.

The mix was named album of the year by the New York Times.

The prize is basically a CD video book made to look like the album, and plays the hour-long video on a screen. It can be recharged via a USB cable.

To win the copy that DJ Mag has got to give away, answer this question:

Q. Which town in Belgium are 2ManyDJs from originally?

Send an email with 'Soulwax' in the subject heading to [email protected] with your answer and necessary details by August 23rd to be in with a chance of winning this rarity.
