Haven't you heard? It's all over the news! DJ Mag Sessions is back this month and we're teaming up with Detroit Swindle to bring the first-ever instalment of The Great Escape to London this month.
Born in Amsterdam at Studio 80 last year as a launch party for their 'Boxed Out' LP, Detroit Swindle have only crossed the UK border once with their criminal heist-themed party, earlier this year at Mint Club, Leeds, with Point G. Since, they've invited Dan Shake back to Studio 80, and the night stopped at Showcase Paris last month with Chicago don Roy Davis Jnr among the suspects.
On Saturday 25th July, The Great Escape makes its London debut at Egg LDN and we've roped in Ninja Tune's most wanted Seven Davis Jr, as well as Tartelet/Aus perpetrator Glenn Astro to play alongside the Heist bosses, plus support from Better Looking Half.
Meanwhile downstairs, Toolroom's master of the groove Weiss will be joined by those trusty Egg residents The Willers Brothers and our very own DJ Mag Allstars.
Off the back of Easter's double header with Art Department on Thursday and Ultramajic with Jimmy Edgar and Machinedrum on Good Friday, DJ Mag Sessions returns to our regular north London haunt with a humungous soundsystem, but this time it's gonna get criminal! Think kitsch '70s B-movies, Blaxploitation attitude and a shed-load of shit-hot house and disco. Get your tickets quick before they get seized!
Better still, for five free tickets, a VIP table and a bottle of booze email the answer to the following question to firstname.lastname@example.org before Thursday 25th June...
What is the name of Detroit Swindle's label?
