WIN A TRIP TO THE BRIGHTON MUSIC CONFERENCE!

Acid pioneer DJ Pierre and more confirmed for final BMC line-up

The Brighton Music Conference (BMC) is only just over a week away, and excitement is building in the dance music industry in the UK for the inaugural south coast event.

BMC — on April 11th and 12th — is aiming to become the UK's answer to the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), and the final line-up is looking super-strong. And DJ Mag can offer an exclusive prize to win full conference tickets to the two-day event — plus two nights accommodation in the swanky My Hotel in the centre of the city.

And for good measure, we're throwing in a £100 voucher for a dinner for two at the Coal Shed restaurant on Boyces Street, near the conference venue (The Dome). To win, just answer the competition question below.

DJ Pierre is the latest addition to the line-up for BMC. Pierre's work with Phuture, messing around with a Roland TB-303 to create early acid tracks such as the seminal cut from 1987 (below), was crucial to the development of acid house, and he'll be sure to talk about his history, the 303, his 'wild pitch' sound and more during his interview onstage with DJ Mag's Carl Loben.

Keynote interviews will also be staged with Eats Everything, Martyn Ware from the Human League (interviewed by Dave Haslam from the Hacienda), Audiofly and AND.ID fro Mobilee, while Darius Syrossian, Jimpster, Skream, Dave Clarke and Paul Woolford have all recently been confirmed to DJ at the event. They join DJ Spen, John '00' Fleming, Steve Mac and Sebo K, who were already announced.

BMC has a plethora of interesting panels on topics such as DJ agents, piracy, maximising revenue streams, social media, royalty distribution, image rights, syncs, PR, publishing, the history of electronic music, and much more. Industry technological development is also a major focus of BMC.

Other panelists include Jono Grant from Above & Beyond, Dave Seaman, Judge Jules, Rik Parkinson, Chris Goss from Hospital Records, publisher John Truelove, Lol Hammond (ex-Drum Club) from Vertigo Films, Phil Asher, Seamus Haji, Sonny Wharton and many more.

To win a trip to BMC, just answer this simple question:

Q. Which Brighton-based dance label used to sponsor Brighton & Hove Albion football team?

Send the answer, along with a quick explanation of why you want to go to BMC, to [email protected] — asap. Please include BMC in the subject heading. We regret that the competition prize doesn't include travel to BMC.

BMC takes place April 11th and 12th at Brighton Dome and various Brighton nightclubs. More info here
