Budakid is launching his Flores label with a new track, ‘Lovin Sun’, out later this week. Have an exclusive first listen below.

With a run of radiant singles and a two-tracker for Exploited (‘Infinity’) already under his belt in 2024, the Netherlands-born, Berlin-based DJ and producer returns with another deep, summer scorcher ready to soundtrack a sunset near you. Out 12th July, ‘Lovin Sun’ is described as a tribute to “the light that keeps us all going”, folding fizzing synths, disco drums and glossy pop-adjacent melodies into Budakid’s signature progressive production.

“‘Lovin Sun’ is a song that I wrote and recorded in my new studio in the Alps...” the producer shared. “The DIY approach of this track is in line with my vision of life. This song epitomises my love for indie and club music, a mix that has inspired me in my musical direction.”

After picking up drumming during childhood, Budakid, AKA Kevin Huizing, traded in his kit for a computer in his teens and has never looked back since. He unveiled his first single, ‘Get Up A’, back in 2010, before going on to refine his melodic powers across a decade of releases for Exploited, Watergate, Permanent Vacation, Lost & Found and more.

As well as his current US hybrid tour, Budakid has plenty more music on the way this year, including a track on All Day I Dream in August and an EP for Sasha’s Last Night On Earth the following month. ‘Lovin Sun’ marks the first release on his own Flores label, where fans can expect to hear more warming tunes incoming this summer.

‘Lovin Sun’ is out 12th July via Flores. Pre-save the single here, and have an exclusive first listen below.

Last summer, Budakid invited a cast of rising names to reimagine his single, ‘Milestones’, including DJ Mag’s 2024 One To Watch, Shubostar, who’s remix DJ Mag premiered, alongside Make A Dance, Milio and more.
