London and Seattle link up on the debut collaborative EP from Sweetpea & Iris on Sofa Sound Bristol
Sweetpea and Iris will release a new EP, ‘Fresh Cutz’, via Sofa Sound Bristol label this month. Listen to ‘DFS’ below.
The London and Seattle-based drum & bass producers’ debut EP follows their collaborative roller, ‘Revolution Not Televised’, which appeared on Sofa Sound’s 2021 compilation, ‘Sofa King Sick Chapter 3’. The four tracks on ‘Fresh Cutz’ comprise a solo track from each artist, alongside two collabs that are charged with the same gritty energy of their initial link-up, with driving beats, crunching snares and snarling bass coming together for a release of proper, no nonsense club business. Jolts of acid in ‘Not Even A Big Up’ and ‘Duck Funk’ and the smoky atmospherics of the title track, set these tunes apart, while the quaking half-time breakdown on ‘DFS’ gives way to a hammering finishing move.
