MILLER SOUNDCLASH 2017 - DAY ONE REVIEW

Arriving in the sweltering desert heat of Las Vegas is a sensory experience unlike any other. The airport's proximity to the famous 'Strip' means you can see the action as soon as the plane  hits the tarmac. And the excitement is palpable.

The ten Miller SoundClash finalists – who are in Las Vegas hoping to win the coveted Miller SoundClash crown and bag a record deal with AfterCluv Dancelab – are welcomed into Las Vegas by an arrivals team at the airport.

They are immediately whisked a short ride to the Miller SoundClash penthouse – which boasts panoramic views of The Strip, a terrace with a plunge pool and well-stocked fridges of Miller Genuine Draft. The finalists check in and start to get into the Vegas spirit.

Day one of Miller SoundClash is primarily about getting acclimatised. So as the finalists reconvene in the Penthouse later in the day, they use this opportunity to get to know each other. Although they will be competitors tomorrow, a clear sense of friendship is developing between them all. The ten DJs – from nine different countries – are united by the experience and are demonstrably excited to be in the US party capital.

Later we arrive at the Miller SoundClash Welcome Party. Hosted on the breathtaking Terrace of OMNIA Nightclub inside Ceasars Palace. With incredible views of the neon lights of The Strip, it's the perfect location to ease into Miller SoundClash weekend.

The finalists, judges and guests all soak up the atmosphere before 2014’s Miller SoundClash champions Tom & Collins give a rousing speech to inspire the finalists.

“This competition changed our lives” they enthuse, “and we hope it will change yours too!”

With those words ringing in their ears, the finalists head back to the hotel to rest up ahead of tomorrow’s Miller SoundClash Grand Final. A day that could be their biggest career break to date.
