Crystal Mad - Nu Skool Bangs

Crystal Mad

Nu Skool Bangs

Nightbreed

9.5
There seems to be a real burst of hardstyle talent emerging from the UK at the moment. One of the countries best kept secrets is south coast-based producer Crystal Mad who bursts onto the scene with his debut release on the heavyweight Dutch rawstyle label Nightbreed. Nu Skool Bangs is a high-energy club banger with sinister melodies, crunchy kicks and haunting vocals. Without a doubt this guy is one to watch with his cutting edge take on the sound, he is sure to be one of the nu-skool leaders in the raw scene!

'Just Won’t Get Enough'

Q Dance

I certainly raised an eyebrow when this one landed in my inbox. Hardstyle meets house as these two legends collide, but they meet very much in the land of hardstyle. 150bpm all the way with pounding, distorted bass drums, euphoric melodies and hypnotically repetitive vocals. It’s always exciting to see a clash of styles like this on paper, but even more exciting when the track lives up to expectations."

Adaro & Hard Driver

'Smack'

Roughstate

8.5
2017 is going to be off to one hell of a year if this track has set the precedent for raw sounds. Rough and ready kick and screech, with a mean groove throughout the track. Catchy rap vocals punch throughout the track keep the energy flowing and rolling into a short melody for the breakdown, into a crispy distorted lead to finish off the track. Top work guys, I'm sure this one will be filling dancefloors this year!

Wild Motherfuckers

'Alarma'

We R Raw

The track title says it all for the theme of this track. These guys come back with another signature-sounding raw track, loving the alarm sample used throughout the first half of this track and dropped into a side-chain with a chunky beat to set the track off. A bass-ripping kick and naughty screech too, this one will certainly prick ears.

Phuture Noize

'Fire'

Anarchy

8.5
Phuture Noize is known for bringing a more melodic side to the rawer end of hardstyle and he certainly brings that side out in the productions of this track. A haunting vocal sang with an electro/breakbeat complimenting it and following into a catchy melody, which will stick in the mind for sometime. I can certainly imagine this track will be crossing between the euphoric hardstyle sets and raw-style sets as the track has the flexibility to move between them both. Great job for pushing the boundaries.

'Wazzup'

Neophyte Records

Stepping up the tempo for the hot-raw talent comes a heavy collaboration between the raw and hardcore. The classic 'Wazzup' vocal has been given a raw makeover, which will certainly be appealing to those like rougher end of the rawer sounds. This vocal seems to be pushing a heavy metal sounding essence followed into a dirty sounding drop. For all of you who are the last man standing in the club, I'm sure this one will be creeping its way into the end of your nights.

Minus Militia

'Obey & Arise'

This trio never ceases to impress with their albums. And the intro is a great introduction. A chord progression which you no less than expect from this trio and a fresh sounding drop which will get feet moving. Check this one out with the rest of the album, you will not be disappointed!
