Berlin's Pale Music have been going from strength to strength of late, which isn't surprising given their once leftfield embrace of guitar and club cultures is pretty much centre stage these days. With Ascii Disco's 'MDMA' they may well have struck gold. The original version is a slamming rock and rave bass guitar driven dancefloor slayer. Label head Steve and musical partner Emma, aka The Scandals, provide the first rework and enhance the track's organic feel, while dropping the pace. On the flip, Punx Soundcheck work in a techno house version that builds its groove over a solid seven minutes of squelchy bass.
