Of all the exciting music to come from the H-pop/chillwave sound of last year (Washed Out, Nite Jewel, Toro Y Moi etc.), Oneohtrix Point Never's 'Rifts' compilation was the looked-over highlight. Now, it's looking like it's going to be Daniel Lopatin's year after the much anticipated arrival of his fantastic Editions Mego debut, 'Returnal' and a series of hugely collectable releases. Here, OPN turns his craft to the melodic, electronic disco of Chateau Marmont's 'Nibiru'; the result being an utterly absorbing, Cluster/Schulze-inspired journey through analogue synthesis. To compliment - also no stranger to the craft - DFA's Gavin Russom offers a killer, new-wave/Euro-inspired disco version, adding to this essential remix package.
