Definitely needs a prize for a high level of daring experimentation. Strictly speaking, this is a d&b tempo, but the way that the percussion has been arranged and with the inclusion of a string vest-wearing, dreadlock-ridden ragga lyric, this could easily pass as a futuristic bashment reggae production. Deep, dark synth moods and pummelling drums. Mixes amazingly with classic Yard beats like Capleton's 'Tour'. Would love to see an album exploring this style.
