Appleblim's pretty underrated these days. Co-founder of one of British dance music's greatest labels in Skull Disco, a superlative DJ and one of the best producers from dubstep's mid-period, you can't help thinking that if he'd release more solo material (most recent Appleblim records have been collaborative) then more people would remember just how bloody good he is. Well, here he is with a new solo production that sounds a bit like Carl Craig, a bit like Floating Points, and really deserves its own 12" (it's actually been released as part of a split with Martin Buttrich and The Mole). Even more props for using one of the most over-sampled vocals of recent years, but disguising it very nicely until the drop.
